INTRODUCTION

The Department of Economics at the University of Connecticut invites applications for a non-tenure-track Research and Teaching Scholar (Assistant Research Professor) to work in the area of Economic and Health Inequality with an emphasis on COVID-19 related research.  The initial appointment is for one-year with the possibility of renewal for a second year and requires teaching one course each year.  The successful applicant is expected to be committed to advancing the interests of groups that have been historically under-represented in the economics profession, or whose research clearly contributes to advancing the diversity of the economics profession.

The successful applicant will work on one research project each year with a lead mentor in the economics faculty who has worked on the relationship of gender and racial inequality to COVID.  There will also be time available for pursuing independent research or projects with the numerous other scholars in the Economics Department who work at the intersected areas of Economic Inequality and Health Inequality.  The Assistant Research Professor will also participate in a related weekly research seminar.
