Meet our Executive Board for 2022-23!
President: Nidhi Nair

Nidhi is an aspiring macroeconomist and policy researcher at the University of Connecticut, where she studies Economics, Mathematics and Statistics. Nidhi has channeled her interest in analyzing the effects of economic policy on local communities as the President of the UConn Undergraduate Economics Society, Treasurer of Women and Minorities in Economics and as the founding director of the Invisible Hand Speaker Series, an annual conference hosted at UConn with the goal of bringing diverse scholars and researchers to speak on campus. Nidhi has been recognized as a United Nations Millennium Fellow, a Werth Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fellow and a UConn Co-Op Legacy Fellow for her advocacy and research efforts in financial literacy. She was a UConn@COP26 Fellow at the UN COP26 conference in Scotland and was inducted as a 2022 Leadership Legacy Scholar for her leadership efforts on campus. Nidhi enjoys making dinner with her family, hosting her radio show, and stoking her raging caffeine addiction.
Vice-President: Maya Murarka

Maya is a junior pursuing a Bachelor of Science in economics and a Bachelor of Arts in human rights. She is interested in the intersection of these two subjects. Last summer Maya interned at the Yale Program on Financial Stability where she worked with researchers who studied recessions. After college she wants to work on solutions to poverty and inequality.
Treasurer: Ryan Durrell

I am a Senior majoring in both Economics and Mathematics, and I am the treasurer for the Economics Society here at UConn. I plan on pursuing my Master's in Economics after graduating in Fall 2023 here at UConn, and then I hope to use my degrees to work in Mathematical
Modeling. I enjoy playing, writing, and listening to music, as well as skiing and weight training.
Secretary: John Doran

John Doran is a junior economics major with a minor in data analytics. He is the Secretary of the Economics Society and is also a member of the Finance Society. Apart from academics, he enjoys hiking and reading. He is excited to expand his knowledge of the financial industry, where he hopes to pursue a career in the future.
Recruitment Director: Linbing Pan

I am a current senior double majoring in Economics and Finance with a minor in Mathematics. I serve as the recruitment director for the Economics Society and Vice President for South Hall Council. I was a recent Retail Management Intern this summer at Nordstrom in PA. During my free time I like to workout, watch movies, and hangout with my friends.
Events Coordinator: Jack LeBeau

My name is Jack LeBeau and I am the events coordinator for the Economics Society. I am a
Junior economics major with a minor in sustainability and business ethics. My other Involvement on campus includes real estate society, law society, and Undergraduate student government. In my free time I enjoy playing golf, traveling, and watching the New England Patriots. After college I am looking for a career in financial services, specifically banking related.
