Oskar Harmon

Professor Harmon is associate professor of economics at the University since 1994.  His work has been published in journals such as American Economic Review, Journal of Urban Economics,  Journal of Economic Education, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Journal of Sports Analytics, National Tax Journal, Public Finance Review, and Real Estate Economics. His current research interests are sports economics, developing teaching innovations, and measuring their effect on learning outcomes.   He served as a member of the American Economic Associations’s Committee on Economic Education (2017-19), as a member of  program committee of the annual national Conference on Teaching and Research in Economic Education (CTREE) 2018, currently serves as chair of the Committee on the Economic Status of the Profession, for the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) 2016-p, and is Treasurer of the  Uconn Chapter of the AAUP 2020-p.   He has contributed to development of the UConn Master of Science in Quantitative Economics (MSQE) program since 2017.

He is a recipient of the AAUP Career Excellence Teaching Award (2022),  the UConn University Teaching Fellow Award (2021), and the  UConn Chancellor’s Information Technology Award (2000)
