The Economics Society is a student-run group and offers its members a forum to discuss current events through an economic lens, speaker events, advice on internship and academic planning, and networking opportunities. Students of all majors and years are welcome to join.

Vice-President: John Doran
John Doran is a junior economics major with a minor in data analytics. He is the Vice-President of the Economics Society and is also a member of the Finance Society. Apart from academics, he enjoys hiking and reading. He is excited to expand his knowledge of the financial industry, where he hopes to pursue a career in the future.
Social Media Coordinator: Shahad Faiz
Shahad Faiz is an Economics major from Monroe, CT. He is excited to be the Social Media Coordinator for the UConn Economics Society, and in his free time, he enjoys painting and playing volleyball.
Secretary: Katrina Melnik
Katrina is a current sophomore majoring in Economics and minoring in Mathematics. She hopes to build a career in the banking and finance industry and is also a member of UCONN’s Hillside Ventures. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, painting, and cooking.
Treasurer: Christine Sangphet
Christine is a senior pursuing a dual degree in economics and applied mathematical sciences. She hopes to establish a career in the field of data science, where she aims to integrate analytical solutions into the development and implementation of business decisions. During her free time, she enjoys cooking, snowboarding, and traveling.
